Thanks for creating this forum. It's is a great idea as a tool to escape censorship. At least Josh and SLoK's reach doesn't extend this far.
Everyone should post here anything that got deleted by SLoK or Josh which was of value.

I got banned from BFL forums . This sucks, how am I going to harass Josh in public now? The newest update was made by "Dave McClain". This guy seems awesome. He posted a real update with full and complete thoughts and he did not say RSN!

Sorry to hear that you got banned. Seantab did too and many others. It's the way they control communication so that the customers don't know what the rest of the customers are thinking. They are trying to squelch the uprising.

Woo! Just got my refund processing notification. That 30-45 days is total bullshit though. But what can I do other than hope for low bitcoin prices in 30-45 days. LOL

Got this crap in response to me asking if there is anything I can do to expedite my refund.
"Thank you for contacting us. At this time, we do not have a specific date that your refund is to be processed. We suggest you lean more toward the 45 day mark. I hope this information helps. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding in this matter.
Kindest Regards, Tamika BF Labs Customer Service "
There policy is not refund for 30-45 days. There appears to be no reason other than to discourage refunds. My BTC refund should take hours but instead takes weeks upon weeks.
Is this legal? It feels so predatory.

I thought the time was originally chosen as they offered you a refund or you could wait for your imperial monarch, which was delayed "four weeks from today". So people thought they might as well wait.
Now it's slightly different as you don't have any idea when they will ship and just have a vague promise of future compensation.
Possible reasons are: 1. They want to yank your chain one last time. 2. They can pick the time most favourable to themselves to liquefy assets (BTC/gold/currency). 3. In the case of BTC, the time most favourable to buy BTC. 4. Their savings account has some restrictions on how quickly you can gain access to cash. 5. They need to earn the money from their mining pool. 6. They need to take in more orders to get the money. 7. They want to avoid you taking the money and putting it into a competitors product.
Whether it's legal can only be tested in and enforced by a court, making you wait to request a refund in the first place is questionable too.
I don't know why they say 30-45 days and then tell you to expect it to be closer to 45 days. I get the impression they will start thinking about processing it on day 45.
I'm only hoping that they stay financially viable enough to process refunds long enough and they don't transfer money to the wrong place, or say they transferred the money when they haven't.

"Hi Kanji,
Refund requests are processed in the order received and paid within 30-45 calendar days. This time is necessary to appropriately research and reconcile requests with payments, vouchers, upgrades, payment methods etc. to ensure that customers receive the full refund they are due.
Kindest Regards, Tamika BF Labs Customer Service"
I got this runaround of an answer. BFL might need to get a research grant to figure out how to refund my order...
Edit: I have no upgrades or vouchers. I have a single order paid with a single bitcoin transaction. The only other interaction I have had is this refund.

Got my refund and they misspelled my name. So much for all that research they did.

Lol. That's good you got the refund, and yes, their excuse for delaying the refund 30-45 days is the most total load of nonsense ever heard of. I think it's so they can use the time to find someone to buy the pre-order. Not honest at all to the original buyer, especially with volatile bitcoin markets.
kanji: May I ask how many days did it take to get your refund? Was it 30-45 or perhaps less?

31 days after I requested but technically 30 after they confirmed.
They just hold the money for 30 days to make you not want to get a refund.
I have only seen posts on BFL forums about a refund taking 30 days. The extra 15 days may be for bank wires but I think those have been reported at 30 days also.
